Thank you for using the Accessibility Reporting Tool (ART).
Your privacy is important to me. ART was designed with privacy, accessibility, and user control in mind. This Privacy Policy explains what information ART collects, how it is used, and the choices you have regarding your data.
Privacy by Design
ART was created with the belief that accessibility tools should respect users’ privacy. That’s why ART does not require an account and is designed to keep your work on your own device whenever possible.
Information ART Collects
ART is designed to operate without requiring an account or collecting personal information.
When you use ART:
- You are not required to create an account.
- You are not required to provide your name, email address, or other personal information.
- ART does not intentionally collect personally identifiable information.
Local Storage
ART is a local-first application.
Accessibility reports, templates, settings, and other project data are automatically stored locally on your device using your browser’s built-in storage capabilities unless you choose to export or delete them.
Because your information is stored locally:
- You remain in control of your data.
- Your reports are not transmitted to or stored on ART servers.
- Deleting your browser data may remove locally stored ART information.
Importing and Exporting Data
ART allows you to import and export files.
Any files you choose to import are processed entirely within your browser.
Files you export are created on your device and are never transmitted to me or any third party.
Analytics and Tracking
ART does not intentionally track your activity within the application or collect analytics about the accessibility reports you create.
If this website is hosted through services such as GitHub Pages, WordPress, or a content delivery network (CDN), those providers may collect standard technical information such as IP addresses, browser types, or server logs as part of normal website operation. Those practices are governed by the privacy policies of the respective providers.
Cookies
ART does not use cookies for advertising or behavioral tracking.
If WordPress or other hosting services use cookies for functionality, security, or site administration, those cookies are governed by the privacy policies of those services.
Third-Party Services
ART may include links to external resources such as:
- GitHub
- WCAG documentation published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C)
- Documentation and support pages
When you follow a link to another website, your interactions are governed by that website’s privacy policy.
Data Security
Because ART stores data locally whenever possible, you remain responsible for protecting your own device and any exported files.
If you choose to store exported reports using cloud storage services or share them with others, those services and recipients are responsible for protecting that information.
Children’s Privacy
ART is intended for accessibility professionals, educators, developers, testers, and organizations. It is not directed toward children under the age of 13.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated as ART evolves.
When changes are made, the Effective Date at the top of this page will be updated to reflect the date of the most recent revision.
